DESCRIPTION:

Dell Reliability Engineering has an opening for an engineer to work on Shock & Vibration Qualification of new Client products such as Portable, Desktop, Workstation, and Tablet computers. Products are for both Consumer and Commercial customers. Will require close collaboration with many cross-functional teams such as Marketing, System Architects, Advanced Quality Engineering, Development Engineering, Corporate Technology, Procurement, and Supplier Quality. Will also require close interaction with multiple Asian ODM manufacturers. Responsibilities will include new test development, sustaining of existing test procedures, evaluation of qualification test failures, and performing and analyzing competitive analysis efforts. Presentations to upper management on plans and status of initiatives will be required. Some travel to Asia will also be needed.

QUALIFICATION:

Must have MSME or equivalent and minimum 10 years in design and/or qualification of commercial electronic equipment. Experience in portable products highly desired. Must have working knowledge of various industry envrionmental specifications such as MIL 810, ASHRAE, ISO, etc. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office tools as well as demonstrated competence with statistical data analysis. Familiarity and ability to operate lab equipment such as Free Fall Drop testers, ED Vibrationsystems, hydraulic vibration systems needed. Proficiency with tools such asTP3 and LabViewalso desired. Should have a working knowledge ofPhysics of Failure methodologies. Should alsobe skilled in Root Cause Analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also needed. Experience with ODM model of development highly desired.
