Job Description: Satellite Technician The Technician role is critical in providing exceptional customer service to the customer. Technicians work independently to install, test, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade equipment that provides signals for residential and business customers. The work performed must follow safety guidelines as well as pre-approved installation, testing, repair and upgrade processes. CRITICAL SKILLS: Provide world class customer service, must have previously worked in an environment where they have been customer facing. Comfortable working at heights, on ladders and with power tools. Must be tech savvy. Have a high level sense of urgency Have a safety mind set and focus on quality, does not cut corners Ability to diffuse difficult situations with people and technology in a professional manner. Willing to work long and flexible hours including weekends. Ability to work independently and unsupervised. Team oriented willingness to help others. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Prepare for new installation and service calls by reviewing installation work orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools. Coordinate daily schedules with customers through regular contact. Drive and operate company vehicles safely in accordance with established policies, courteously and defensively. Ensure that vehicle maintenance and care is performed appropriately. Plan installations by evaluating location and access points to that location, laying out the required equipment and establishing a wiring plan. Establish satellite system by installing equipment, routing running and pulling wire, programming and calibrating equipment, and adhering to codes, regulations, and standards. Verify system functioning by testing equipment and connections, identifying and correcting problems. Maintain records by documenting installation, service, and repairs. Maintain and improve service level by listening to customer's description of problems; diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing problems; replacing and upgrading components; referring to schematics, manuals, and manufacturers' instructions.
