Bechtel is seeking a specialist to monitor commercial and technical advancements related to 3D printing or additive manufacturing in industrial construction. Areas to be considered include: concrete, rebar, piping, plastics, and metals. The responsibilities of the role include:
Staying abreast of the latest academic research in relevant areas
Creating and maintaining connections to academics, start-ups and other technology companies in the field
Act as thought leader both internally and externally through publications, presentations and/or speaking engagements
Providing summaries and recommendations to Bechtel technical and executive management
Master’s degree in material science, engineering, robotics or other related discipline
Minimum of 2-years experience in research and development on 3D printing or additive manufacturing
PhD in material science, engineering, robotics or other related discipline
Published papers in relevant technical journals
Strong oral and written communications skills
Capability and flexibility to handle multiple tasks in restricted timeframes to support organizational goals
Must be willing to travel, as required.
