BAE Systems Supply Chain Manager in Austin, Texas

Job Description

Manages a team of planners and production controllers within the Austin supply chain management organization. Ensures the planning staff is supporting the needs of the business through coordination of multiple programs. Interfaces with procurement, logistics, quality, engineering, and operations. Works closely with the manufacturing team to ensure alignment of priorities and support of the MDS plans.

Supports the development and implementation of short and long-term supply chain strategies that address capacity issues, production location decisions and material planning challenges in support of business growth. Facilitates business execution to ensure supply plan aligns with demand plan. Leads and acts as focal point for all supply chain activities. Monitors key performance indicators, analyzes performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives. Optimizes the interface between supply chain management and manufacturing systems. Participates with business area planning and manufacturing in the generation of resource and manpower forecasts. Supports the shipment of product to maintain contract and internal delivery commitments. As a supply chain manager, this position requires that the individual possess a strong understanding of the planning and supply chain processes and is capable of troubleshooting process failures to ensure program success. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes team responsibilities to accomplish objectives. Trains and coaches team members. Drives continuous improvement philosophy and approach to problem solving and process improvement.

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Strong knowledge of MRP (Oracle or SAP) and shop floor systems

Ability to motivate team for success

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
