Panasonic Sr. Engineer, Test Lead in Dallas, Texas


Responsible for assuring that our IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) solutions are successfully integrated into all infotainment head unit products, on time with high quality to multiple customers. This technical leadership position will provide direction to both on-shore and off-shore development teams to develop system level test cases for all IVI features, performs test execution during software release test cycles, performs bug creation, and verification. Provides leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimal performance level.


  • Leads and/or participates in meetings between PASA, suppliers, and PASA’s customers for test design reviews and to track project status.

  • Manages resource needs to ensure test coverage.

  • Develops and maintain procedures and related documentation for testing of all automotive infotainment systems.

  • Works with local teams to analyze requirements, design and maintain test frameworks for infotainment projects with on-time and high quality deliverables to multiple customers.

  • Works with global test teams to develop test cases, perform system level testing & find bugs.

  • Manages test changes and updates with respect to customer requirement changes.

  • Utilizes knowledge to understand product specifications and how they relate to test plan development.

  • Evaluates new software releases to ensure it meets the acceptance criteria.

  • Verifies all implemented Customer and Internal requirements have test coverage before each test cycle.

  • Tracks and reports problems and verify solutions through the use of bug tracking applications.

  • Prepares records, charts, graphs and other statistical information related to the testing documentation process.

  • Participates in in-vehicle field evaluations of Domain related features and functions.

  • Keeps abreast of new technologies and methods for the purpose of recommending changes that will benefit current and future customer programs.


  • Four-year College Degree in at least one STEM major (Science; Technology; Engineering; Math) and a minimum of five (5) years of experience; or a minimum of ten (10) years of product testing, software testing or systems design experience in electronics products.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in product design and embedded software testing (test development, execution and documentation).

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience leading a team.

  • Experience in designing test frameworks, developing test cases and testing software in a real-time embedded environment.

  • Experience in testing for any one of the following or equivalent, for each Domain solutions:

  • Networking: Roadtunes, iAnywhere, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless stacks, cellular data modems, PTS (from Bluetooth SIG) and BT Sniffer Tool Usage

  • Speech / Voice Recognition: Nuance, VoiceBox, or equivalent

  • HMI: EB Guide, Qt/QML, HTML 5, Eggplant, Photoshop, NI Vision

  • Receivers: AM, FM, RDS, SDARS, XM, DAB, and HD radio

  • Systems Services: Audio Management, Software/firmware in field updates

  • Vehicle Interfaces (Network): CAN, MOST, LIN, Ethernet AVB, CANoE, CANAlyzer, CAN DiVa

  • Vehicle Interfaces (Vehicle Powermoding): Vehicle Power Management, on and off-board vehicle sensors

  • Working knowledge of a Software Test Life Cycle (STLC).

  • Experience working in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Windows-based databases.

  • Experience to Onsite / Offshore mode, Communication & team management.


  • Experience in product testing within the Automotive Industry

  • Experience with automated testing (both hardware and software).

  • Experience mentoring and motivating team members

  • System thinking and leadership capabilities and Creative problem solving

  • Experience with Agile project management

  • Working knowledge of the IBM Jazz/RTC environment

  • Experience in usage of RF Signal Generators (DAB Signal Generators, Sirius & XM Signal Generators and HD Signal Generators), Programmable Power Supplies, PXI Racks, Oscilloscope etc.
