Job Description Overview The QA supervisor oversees the day to day operations of the QA team to ensure all tests are performed accurately and resolves escalated issues to maintain compliance with HACCP and USDA-FSIS regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists with task delegation and training for and between QA/HACCP Technicians and reviews the performance of weekly HACCP verification checks Conducts thorough revisions and filings of the HACCP Plans, Hazard Analysis and Flow Diagrams, SSOP Plans and SPS programs and files all associated forms. Coordinates reviews and presents NR with USDA and Management and maintains weekly, monthly YTD NR reports. Leads the HACCP Plans and Analysis between USDA, Management and Production Correspond with the Director of Technical Services for information regarding Regulation updates, FSIS Tech center specifics, NR reviews, product micro testing procedures and results, etc. Partners with in-house Lab Technician on sample product test results to determine the release of product for shipments Reviews slaughtering pre-shipment processes inclusive of further processing and RTE areas Coordinates with Management and Supervisors for documentation, complying and following through on corrective actions and preventive measures Manages and updates tare system and tracks QA hold tags Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum three years' experience in a Quality Control role within a manufacturing environment or related capacity Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required. Science background a plus Oversees assigned QA technicians Intermediate or above knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel software programs. Able to develop and maintain spreadsheets Ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, checklists, forms and equipment instruction manuals that are written in English. Ability to calculate figures, analyze reports, determine processing rates, work with percentages and apply basic algebra and geometry Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Strong safety record Ability to meet attendance guidelines. Ability to work flexible hours (including some weekends and overtime ) to perform all duties and responsibilities Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs. as required. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with all contacts both inside and outside the company.
