Job Description

Volt is seeking to hire a dynamic, high energy and accomplished Senior Planner for a leading manufacturer of computer peripheral equipment including color and monochrome printers as well as multi-function products. The Senior Planner must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing and inventory planning environment. In addition, the candidate would have thorough knowledge of planning and procurement techniques.

The responsibilities of the position are:

  • Prepares monthly inventory plan utilizing forecast, purchase/inventory levels and shipping schedules

  • Recommends, enters and tracks purchase orders for the procurement of product as well as recommends and submits purchase requisitions for domestic procurement

  • Analyzes and compares shipping schedules to open orders, communicates and reconciles all discrepancies with vendors and identifies product availability issues to Marketing, Sales and SCM management.

  • Controls all product phase-outs and end of life to minimize inventory exposure.

EDUCATION: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required


  • 5-7 years in a purchasing and inventory environment

  • Demonstrated ability to plan a variety of products of a complex nature

  • MRP and SAP experience

  • Microsoft Office (Word / Excel), must be strong in Excel

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent analytical abilities and PC skills

  • CPIM certification a plus
