Volt is seeking to hire a dynamic, high energy and accomplished Senior Planner for a leading manufacturer of computer peripheral equipment including color and monochrome printers as well as multi-function products. The Senior Planner must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing and inventory planning environment. In addition, the candidate would have thorough knowledge of planning and procurement techniques.
The responsibilities of the position are:
Prepares monthly inventory plan utilizing forecast, purchase/inventory levels and shipping schedules
Recommends, enters and tracks purchase orders for the procurement of product as well as recommends and submits purchase requisitions for domestic procurement
Analyzes and compares shipping schedules to open orders, communicates and reconciles all discrepancies with vendors and identifies product availability issues to Marketing, Sales and SCM management.
Controls all product phase-outs and end of life to minimize inventory exposure.
EDUCATION: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required
5-7 years in a purchasing and inventory environment
Demonstrated ability to plan a variety of products of a complex nature
MRP and SAP experience
Microsoft Office (Word / Excel), must be strong in Excel
Excellent communication skills
Excellent analytical abilities and PC skills
CPIM certification a plus
