Responsibilities of the Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform trim analysis as required for the PW Remanufacturing and PW610 manufacturing facilities
  • Perform thrust load analysis as required for the PW Remanufacturing and PW610 manufacturing facilities as required
  • Map pump case volutes and volute sectional areas as required and produce detailed drawings of each
  • Collect critical hydraulic dimensions for existing impellers, diffusers, and volutes as required
  • Create volute modification drawings using new design data provided by the Hydraulics Engineer
  • Create case throat area drawings as required and create modified throat area drawings using new design data provided by the Hydraulics Engineer
  • Manage pump case volute modifications and impeller modifications performed by shop personnel
  • Generate 3D models of pump hydraulic components using Solidworks
  • Create fluid models using Solidworks which will be used for CFD analysis
  • Plot pump performance data and create proposal performance curves as required

Qualifications of the Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university program
  • Proficiency with Solidworks
  • Proficiency with AutoCad, DraftSight, and/or Solidworks 2D
  • Excel or other spread sheet program capabilities
  • Good verbal and communicative skills
