In this position you will utilize your in-depth knowledge and experience to lead and develop a high performing team of commercial Chiller Technicians who will troubleshoot and service complex chilled water systems, commercial HVAC systems, and partner with our associated controls team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance and servicing of HVAC systems (Hydronic, Steam, Chilled Water, DX, Forced Air, Heat Pump, VAV, Constant Volume, Exhaust, Heat Recovery, Sheet Metal Ducting and various related mechanical systems)

  • Must have the ability and desire to help teach, train, and develop technicians while managing and elevating their performance

  • Diagnosing/trouble shooting centrifugal and screw technology and HVACR equipment

  • Performing preventive maintenance on equipment

  • Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct.

  • Demonstrates professional craftsmanship and pride in working with fellow team members

  • Following all safety requirements and use appropriate PPE, ensuring all others on the team are as well.

  • Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.

  • Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis of approx. 8 weeks, to service emergency needs of our customers.

  • Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form.

  • Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment as required in the vehicle.

  • Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies.

  • Identify and report to Management all potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services).


  • A minimum of 5 years experience working with Centrifugal and Screw Chillers with associated systems components

  • A minimum of 2 years leading others

  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe rigging techniques

  • Knowledge of precision measuring equipment

  • Must have experience in equipment tear down and rebuild

  • Documented factory training on equipment and associated controls packages and proven track record with references

  • Ability to analyze and interpret equipment log reports

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve operational problems

  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.

  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.

  • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.

  • Must be able to pass drug test(s) as required by company

  • Lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spaces.
